Dangerous Hunts 2011, A Gamers Review

If you have not heard of Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011, you might just see the name and instantly assume it's a big game hunting simulator of some type. You might have seen this variety of hunting game before, the variety where you pick your rifle, decide on your camo, and waste a lot of time just hoping to see the difference between deer poop and a pile of mud. Yet somewhere between killing a cougar in dramatic slow motion and fighting off dangerous wild wolves that have evil red eyes, you will know that assumption does not quite apply to this game.

This particular game is better viewed as a game of survival first of all and a hunting game 2nd. The story plot has the player in the shoes of a adventerer that goes by the name of Cole whose adventure finds him going through a wide variety of locales spread across the United States and Africa to hunt wild animals who have have been possessed by demonic forces. In one particular level you are shown Cole emerging from an avalanche in the middle of night, making his way through the snowy forest and fighting off dangerous animals attempting to hunt him while he deals with environmental hazards, such as hidden bear traps and dangerously thin ice.

Like with prior releases of Cabela's Dangerous Hunts, you'll play the game using a special gun peripheral equipped with a telescopic scope and adjustable stock, as well as normal controllers in order to control your movement so that the player don't have to play the game on rails. The red telescopic sight is neat, and enjoyable to use. It can be really kinda hard to see anything through the thing. In order to make use of it, you have to press the button marked A and it makes the screen viewable through the lens. Still, it is very hard to see anything, making for a annoying game.

Besides allowing you a little more control over how you fire your shots, the gun controller is equipped with a cool feature called Hunter Vision. The Hunter Vision feature shows hidden objects by momentarily making the screen a fairly mixed up hodge podge of reddish colors that are decoded by aiming through the telescopic sight of the rifle like a night vision scope. For those people that had the old gun in which the trigger assembly was in the front, this gun is a great improvement. The trigger is now in the back of the gun, and the gun can bre reloaded by a pump located on the front. On top of that, all of the game controlls are fullycustomizable (not like the earlier version).

The gun is fully adjustable so even large people have the ability to retain the stock of the gun in their shoulder while peering through the telescopic sight, making for a realistic experience. as well as the aforementioned story mode, the game will have with a number of different modes, including multiplayer options, such as the Shooting Gallery similiar to some other hunting games.

Furthermore, the game in general is really hard to play. I really liked playing the game and I also like to play hunting games online as often as I can.
